Having published >220 peer-reviewed papers and chapters in bio-medical sciences and population health, Dr. Douglas Miller enjoys a global reputation as a cardiovascular disease & medical imaging expert. He is a healthcare quality & equity champion who has been recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor for >20 years. Dr. Miller has uniquely served as the Dean of three research-intensive medical schools, and as a member of the Liaison Committee for Medical Education (LCME) and as chair of Canadian MD program national accrediting body (CACMS). He has served as site visit team chair for multiple LCME and CACMS medical school re-accreditation visits and consulted with several US medical schools undergoing their LCME self-study.
Dr. Miller has led teams across universities & organizations to increase diversity in medicine & science, and to expand the physician workforce to meet the needs of underserved communities. Dr. Miller has advised several global health policy organizations (i.e., University of California Berkeley, The NHS King’s Fund) and technology businesses (i.e., IBM Watson Health, Philips Healthcare). He holds U.S. patents in new drug development, advanced medical imaging and artificial intelligence. His biotech incubator directorships and invited lectures & podcasts reflect his leading authority status on advanced technology applications (including AI) in translational research, healthcare and health professions learning.
