April serves as a Senior Manager with a centralized data abstraction model for Clinical Data and Registry Abstraction (CDRA) at Parallon HCA Healthcare.
As a nurse, she quickly found a passion for cardiovascular services and held positions in the CVICU, cardiac step-down, and telemetry units. She has been a Registered Nurse with over 29 years of experience in various roles, such as an Accredited Case Manager, Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist, Cardiovascular Data Abstractor, Program Data Manager, and Clinical Program Accreditation Coordinator. In her previous positions, April abstracted multiple registries including AFib Ablation Registry™, CathPCI Registry™, Chest pain - MI Registry™, EP Device Implant Registry™, LAAO Registry™, STS/TVT Registry™, STS National Database™ Adult Cardiac Surgery, Get With The Guidelines® Heart Failure, Get With The Guidelines® Coronary Artery Disease, and Core Measures.
Transitioning to CDRA in 2020, April became the first operations manager over cardiovascular abstraction. She was quickly promoted to the role of senior manager, where she serves as a subject matter expert in the interventional and surgical cardiovascular registries. April has been instrumental in standardizing the CDRA program in collaboration with NCDR leadership.
April holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing.
