Dr. Danielle Blais is a Specialty Practice Pharmacist in the area of Cardiology at the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from SUNY Geneseo and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from SUNY Buffalo. She is Board Certified in Cardiology and Pharmacotherapy and is a Fellow in the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. Dr. Blais serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy. In addition to her adjunctive appointment at the College, Dr. Blais maintains an active clinical practice in the areas of acute coronary syndromes and treatment of venous thromboembolism, as well as provides pharmacy services to the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. At the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Dr. Blais has served on multiple quality committees including: the Interventional and Medical Cardiology operations council and has worked extensively on developing treatment protocols in these areas. Some of the evidence based guidelines she has been involved in include: prevention of contrast associated acute kidney injury, acute coronary syndromes, treatment of massive and submassive pulmonary embolism, and management of patients on antiplatelet therapies in the peri-procedural period. Her research endeavors cross all aspects of cardiovascular pharmacotherapy but primarily focus in the areas of acute coronary syndromes and venous thromboembolism.
